Mr. Delanty

Welcome! My name is Matt Delanty. I work at Generic High School where I teach English and Creative Writing. I currently teach two classes of senior world literature, one class of freshmen survey literature, and a creative writing class.

A little about me:

I grew up in the city of Chicago, not too far from Wrigley Field (although I am a proud White Sox fan). I attended high school in the city, however once I graduated I headed east to attend Western Michigan University. I graduated Western with a degree in English along with two minors (one in political science and the other in criminal justice). From there I went on to receive my masters in teaching from Seattle University, and since then have been teaching at Generic High School.

Along with being an English teacher here at Generic, I am also the head coach of the varsity baseball team. I played varsity baseball in high school and played three years of club baseball at Western Michigan University and for two of those years I was the team's president and head coach. I have over 7 years of coaching experience; I have coached little leage, travel baseball (10U, 11U, 15U, 16U), along with being an assistant coach for the JV team at Hackett Catholic Prep in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

When I am not teaching or coaching I am spending time with my family, walking the dogs with my wife, or sitting down to enjoy a good movie. Our three dogs can be a handful most of the time so when I am not teaching or coaching, the dogs are usually occupying my attention.
